Back in February 2021, Carletta Hurt and I launched the Black Film Challenge - a month-long experience designed to challenge people to identify different films made by Black filmmakers. Fit with weekly recaps and interviews with filmmakers of African descent and prizes, we sought to create a challenge that brought Black filmmakers (that serve various roles) front and center, showcasing the diversity of stories that are being told within the Black community.
